Week 7 Monday, March 2 Discuss articles
LEED-CS (Core and Shell) - used for building envelope and systems. CS buildings are planned to be leased to tenants who complete fit-out using LEED-CI (Commercial Interiors).
LEED-NC (New Construction) - used for structures where 50% or more of the interior space will be finished. Energy Star designation for Commercial building design - for buildings that achieve a score of 75 on a 1-100 scale that measures energy efficiency
Green Globes system, Green Building Initiative - scores buildings on a 1000-point scale in several categores. Certification is one to four globes.

Assignment: Each student will be assigned a chapter of the book Sustainable Building Technical Manual (Public Technology Inc., 1996), available online through the USGBC website at www.usgbc.org/Docs/SBTM/sbt.pdf. Students should read the chapter assigned and create a one-page guide to the chapter as a resource for the class. Wednesday, March 4
