INTRODUCTION TO BUSINESS

ANNOUNCEMENT BOARD

(the most recent announcements are on top)

9/1/08  IMPORTANT - all email directed to me must be sent to pdawson@ccccd.edu only.  I have turned off email access via Blackboard and will not answer email sent through any means other than my above email address.  This is due to problems with the other email systems.  Thanks for your cooperation.

Fall 2008 Web students: If you have not already done so, please email me with an active email address so I can get you fully enrolled, no email address means you are not enrolled.  The information you need for your course is now current on this website.  You are required to read everything on this website for your course, BUSI1301- Introduction to Business, and are responsible for being aware of all of the information, including exam and other due dates.  A failure to meet a course requirement that is posted on the website will not be excused.  You must also check this page frequently for announcements effecting your course.  Since Fall 08 will be the first time that this class will be available through Blackboard/WebCT there will likely be a number of kinks to work out.  I will do my best to keep things updated, but I need you to contact me if something seems to be in error.

Several students have asked if the only requirements for the class are those listed in the study guide and project instructions.  The answer is yes.  The only required work is that you take the three exams and turn in the project.  These are the only things you will be graded on.  Anything else you do, for example, take the practice tests, is to help you get ready for the exams and will not count toward your grade.  Also, if you haven't figured it out by now.

I have received several emails asking if you will be receiving emails on a regular basis.  The answer is "no".  While I email individual students and the whole class occasionally, my primary way of communicating with you is via this announcement board.  I will, of course, respond to all emails you send me.

As you might imagine with multiple distance learning sections I receive a lot of email.  I try and respond to your inquiries as quickly as possible.  In order to help me do that, I am requesting that you do not email me to thank me for my responses.  I will assume that if you do not ask me for more help that you are satisfied with my answer and will take no further email from you as a "thank-you".  This will save me time from opening emails that do not require a response.  Thanks for your understanding.
