Teaching Philosophy: (“Have Fun and Learn a Lot”)
If I lecture you – you won’t listen and you will forget.
If I involve you – you will begin to learn.
If you participate – you will begin to understand.
If you become engaged – you will learn, understand and remember forever.
Ultimately it is the student that is responsible for his or her education. If a student doesn’t understand and embrace that responsibility, there is very little that I can do as a teacher.
However, there are many things that I can do as a teacher to encourage a student to take responsibility – encourage class preparation, encourage class participation, structure group studies/activities, engage & challenge the student, ask questions and expect answers, and above all - have some fun.
