Part One This is more of an exercise than a shooting assignment intended to familiarize you with the characteristics of digital capture and white balance, as well as the way your camera handles color. You will make a series of exposures under a specific number of light sources as RAW files. Your camera should have it’s white balance set for daylight for this assignment. You should also shoot a second set of duplicate images as either jpgs or RAW files with the camera set for Auto White Balance. Work with a tripod for framing consistency and sharpness. You will photograph a person holding your gray card under the following lighting conditions: 1. Daylight, full sun, between 10 AM and 3 PM 2. Daylight, open shade 3. Indoors, Tungsten 4. Indoors, fluorescent 5. Indoors, mixed lighting, any combination of daylight, tungsten and florescent Bring them to class on a CD, hard drive or jump drive for the next class. In Photoshop or Lightroom you will process and color correct your files in class. Part Two Make a series of photographs of the environment in which you live. Expose at least 100 frames and bring in an edit of 10 possible finals.
