ONLINE COURSES

I now teach General Physics and University Physics on-line. Through the use of a revolutionary digital physics textbook and available technology, I believe your experience in my virtual physics classroom can be as good as that in a traditional on-campus course. However, you will still need to register for an on-campus laboratory.
As in any course, you only get out as much out as you put in to it. Physics can be especially difficult to learn for many people (for a variety of reasons we'll not get into here). In an on-line course, you must work extra hard to keep up with the assignments and read the required material. In this course you will be interacting with a digital textbook developed by Kinetic Books. Click here to try out a demo version.
You will be doing much more than just reading through the textbook. You will be interacting with it through a variety of interactive animations, examples and problems accompanied by audio and video. The homework will be assigned and completed on-line, with many of the problems based on interactive animations embedded in the text..

Interactive animations and tutorials (left) are embedded throughout the digital text.

The Quizboard feature (right) checks your understanding of the concepts and guides you through problem solving strategies.

Examples (left) are worked out in the text in detail with interactive features.

Another attractive feature of the digital textbook is its price, $34.95 (General Physics web version) which includes all content for both course semesters.

IMPORTANT ON-LINE COURSE INFORMATION

My on-line physics courses are taught using the CCCCD WebCT resources. All information and class communications are accessed through your Physics WebCT course available through your student account. You will not be able to access the WebCT course resources until the first day of class. To provide as much course information up-front as possible, I've included below important information you may review. Students who register for this course should carefully review all of this information.
