"How do I find a book when I only know the subject?"

Step 1. Open the Library web page Step 2. Click on the campus you want under Our Library Catalog: SCC for the Spring Creek library catalog PRC for the Preston Ridge library catalog CPC for the Central Park library catalog [When the Library catalog has opened, your screen will look like this: There will be blue bar across the top of the page.) Step 3. Type in the subject(s) in the "Subject Keyword" box. [NOTE: a subject can be anything related to the title, author or contents of the book. Subjects for the novel "Gone With the Wind" might be "civil war fiction" or "scarlett ohara" or even "clark gable".] Step 4. Click on the red GO button to retrieve all materials which match the subjects you entered. For instructions on how to narrow your search for an exact title to one campus, read this: Step 5. Once you have your search results, be sure to write down the "call number" of the book you want. This is the string of letters and numbers which appears on the spine of the book on the shelf, and is the number we will use to find the book for you when you request it.
