"How do I request an item that is checked out or at another campus?"
















Step 1. Open the Library web page

Step 2. Click on the campus you want under Our Library Catalog:

SCC for the Spring Creek library catalog

PRC for the Preston Ridge library catalog

CPC for the Central Park library catalog





Step 3. When the Library catalog has opened, your screen will look like this: (There will be blue bar across the top of the page.)

Step 3a. Type in the name of the book you are looking for in the "Title Keyword" box.

BUT BEFORE YOU CLICK ON THE RED "GO" BUTTON,

Step 3b. Go down the screen to the box under "Limits" and click on the campus you would like the item delivered to.

The results which appear on your screen now will be limited to those titles available on the campus you selected.






Step 4. Once your item has appeared on your screen, you can see if it is available - or if it is already checked out to someone else. If the item you want is already checked"OUT", click on it's title to open it's full record. (You will need to open the full record in order to request this item be held for you when it comes back to the Library.)






Step. 5. This is the place where you click to request this item. (You should also be able to see when it is due back in the Library.)









Step 6. This is the screen that will open when you click on the "Request first available copy" button. Enter the 14-digit number from the back of your student ID card (or library card, if you are a non-student). The number should begin with "21702...". Then type in the last four digits of your phone number. The system will confirm that you want this item to be held when it returns, and may even ask you which campus you would like it delivered to. A phone message will be left at the phone number you gave when the item is finally ready for you to pick up.
