2008-2009 Events:

Book-in-Common Program: A multi-disciplinary initiative which encourages students and professors across the curriculum to read one book, and come together to participate in discussion and other activities. This year's program is sponsored by the Division of Communication and Humanities, the Honors Institute, and the Center for Scholarly and Civic Engagement.For further information about the program, contact Betty Bettacchi (bbettacchi@ccccd.edu), Delores Zumwalt (dzumwalt@ccccd.edu), or Lauryn Angel-Cann (lacann@ccccd.edu).

November 6: Auteur Film Series screening of In America at Angelika Film Center, Plano, TX at 7:00 p.m. followed by a panel discussion.

November 12: Author, Michael Patrick MacDonald, will be in the SCC Conference Center. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. followed by Q&A and book signing.

November 13: Writer's Workshop with Michael Patrick MacDonald, hosted by Honors Institute, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the SCC Conference Center.

November 13: Author, Michael Patrick MacDonald, will be in the PRC Events Center. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. followed by Q&A and book signing.

All events are free and open to the public.

Distinguished Speaker Series: The Collin College Distinguished Speaker Series invites distinguished and noted individuals from across the country to engage in a year-long, college-wide conversation addressing current research and topics of interest.
