Business Computer Applications: Computer terminology, hardware, software, operating systems, and information systems relating to the business environment. The main focus of this course is on business applications of software including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentation graphics, and business-oriented utilization of the internet. This course will help you unlock the potential of properly applied information systems concepts. Programming concepts are also introduced. Lab required. 3 credit hours.
Required Hardware and Software:
- Computer with Internet connection that is able to access and display WebCT virtual classroom. This requires that you adjust the settings on your computer's firewall, pop-up blockers and other protection software for WebCT access. Also you will need to download and install Java 2 to your computer.
- Internet Explorer 6.0 or other browser
- Personal E-mail Address. You must have your own e-mail address.
- Software-MS ACCESS 2003*, MS WORD 2003*, MS EXCEL 2003*, MS POWERPOINT 2003*, and a Web Authoring Program (MS FrontPage, Macromedia DreamWeaver, Netscape Communicator, etc..)
*Instructions will be for 2003 versions of the above programs, however the 2007 and XP versions of these programs may be used to complete most of the lab assignments.
