"Texas
Recycles Day"
is Monday, 11/15
Oh Beautiful for smoggy skies, insecticided grain,
For strip-mined mountain's majesty above the asphalt plain.
America, America, man sheds his waste on thee,
And hides the pines with billboard signs, from sea to oily sea.

David & Christy Ilfrey, former CCCC
students of Dr. G
David & Christy Ilfrey founded Native Texas Garden Designs, a local "green" business, to help Texans restore nature to their landscape. Their interest in environmental issues, specifically those related to Texas' ecology, inspired them to incorporate into every aspect of their lives the Four Rs - reduce, reuse, recycle and rebuy. David is a 7th-generation Texan, an alumnus of Longwood Gardens Professional Gardeners Training Program, and a graduate of Texas State University San Marcos' geography program; he holds a BS in Environmental Studies. Christy earned the BA in English from Texas State University San Marcos, completed the Honors Program, and successfully completed the associate of arts curriculum at Collin County Community College District. Formerly employed with CCCCD, she worked as recruitment coordinator and associate faculty of developmental writing. Both David & Christy enjoy educating others about Texas' natural beauty.
