Your Collin College Book in Common (BIC) assignment is worth a possible 100 points and is due on October 21st* (M/W classes) or October 22nd* (T/TH classes).  Choose ONE option from the following three choices to complete this task.  Note that all three require you to read the novel:

v     Read the novel, attend the author’s lecture (dates and locations above and below on BIC website), and turn in a 1 ½ - 2 page review of the event.  Write the review as if you were a Collin student reporter for the newspaper.  While the typical “who, what, when, where, why and how” questions may help frame your article, I am also looking for your reporter insights about why a program like the BIC is beneficial to students at Collin.  Feel free to include interview quotations from students or faculty attending – perhaps even the author himself!  Do not forget to use the Collin Writing Center for editing advice!

v     Read the novel and answer the Humanities questions (under my name entitled "Victorian Globalism") located on the Book in Common website.  (Click on “TEACHING GUIDE” and then scroll down.)   http://www.ccccd.edu/academics/bookincommon/

v     Read the novel and answer the “Psychology” questions located on the Book in Common website.  (Click on “TEACHING GUIDE” and then scroll down.)   These are fascinating interdisciplinary questions – and not just for psychology majors!
