Biology 1408 Online Lab Course
Biology 1408: Introduction to Biology I lab
Biology 1408 online lecture is a co-requisite. You must be enrolled in both lecture and lab to receive credit.
This lab is offered in a distance education format over the Internet. You will be required to perform lab experiments at home. These experiments will require that you gather materials/equipment. Students do not attend a traditional class scheduled at a fixed time. However, students are expected to make several visits (at least two) to the Spring Creek Campus Testing Center for practical examinations.
This lab is rigorous (difficult and time-consuming). The lab is best suited for the self-motivated individual who can do lab work independently. Students enrolled in this course MUST be able to connect to the Internet, send email, use web browsers (Netscape and Internet Explorer), send attachments, use web platform (WebCT), use Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), download and send files in order to access the course information, and complete the homework assignments.
Any student currently enrolled in Biology 1408 online section can log in to the course on the FIRST DAY of CLASS (not earlier) by following the login instructions at log on to Blackboard .
If you cannot gain access on the first day of class, please inform me immediately at dcardenas@ccccd.edu and and contact the technical support at Presidium Learning at 972-881-5828, 972-881-5871 or toll free 866-350-5119. They are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There is a brief recorded message before a technical support person comes on the phone.
