Doing Library research on U. S. Government topics:
Government Journals

Our databases are carefully selected collections of journal articles which the library purchases specifically for student research. If you are required to find "journal articles" for a government research assignment these databases are where you start.

If you have a valid Library Card, you can access many journals from home or other off-campus locations. You will be asked to enter your 14-digit library card number in order to log in and then the database containing the journals will open. General research titles which can be accessed in this way from off campus include:
"Doing Library Research for..." LRCM8601 :

"How do I find journal articles?"

If you DO NOT have a specific topic yet:
(a). Browse through government-related databases OR
(b). Enter some search terms you are considering in the online index here and see what ideas occur to you as you browse topics.

IF YOU HAVE A SPECIFIC TOPIC:
1. Look up your topic within the various online indexes here: As you find each interesting article, be sure to note whether this item is currently available in full text. If it is not specifically listed as a full-text item, a reference librarian can help you request this item via interlibrary loan. Be sure to allow plenty of time for this process.
