Interlibrary
Loan
A loan
or copy of material not owned by CCCCD libraries
may be requested through the Interlibrary Loan service. CCCCD faculty,
staff, and students must have a valid CCCCD library card to request interlibrary
loan services. The libraries are unable to accept requests from community
members. Check the library's catalog and list of periodical holdings to
be sure we do not own the item before making your request. Allow 14 days
for processing interlibrary loan requests. Although you may submit as
many requests at one time as you wish, only five will be processed per
day per person.
Library Orientation and Bibliographic Instruction
The professional staff of the Library encourage faculty to request assistance for information and/or presentations that will enable students to achieve better results in their coursework-based assignments and projects.
In order to provide better service tailored to each course setting, we are requesting faculty members to submit their orientation requests with as much lead time as possible; one week in advance of the desired instruction date is preferred. The Library Orientation Request Forms may be obtained at the reference desk in the LRC on each campus.
You can also schedule your orientation or subject resource class online. A librarian will e-mail you a confirmation within 48 hours. If the event is needed in less than 48 hours, please contact a librarian directly.
The subject liaison librarians at Central Park Campus, Preston Ridge Campus, and Spring Creek Campus look forward to working with faculty to meet
the academic needs of the student. For additional information please contact
the reference desk at each campus.
Faculty and staff
currently employed by Collin are eligible for the issuance of a TexShare
card.
Cardholders receive limited borrowing privileges at participating academic
libraries.
Rules and limitations may vary among
institutions. The borrower is responsible for materials, fines
and fees incurred. The Texshare card is issued for the current
academic year and must be renewed annually. Go to your library's Reference
Desk to obtain a TexShare card or talk to your liaison
librarian. In some cases Interlibrary Loan may be a better choice
than a TexShare card.
