Q:"What are "e-Reserves"?" A: Electronic reserve systems allow libraries to offer students around-the-clock access to course reserve material online. The instructor submits the files to the library, the library posts them to the system and students can access these materials any time they go online. Q:"How do copyright laws affect what I put on reserve for my class?" A: Please carefully review Copyright laws before working with any reserve system, electronic or otherwise. |
You are invited to make your course reserve items available via the new eReserves system!GETTING STARTED: 1. Identify the files you'd like to make available via eReserves for your students. These can include PowerPoint presentations, Word documents or even Excel spreadsheets. Your liaison librarian can help you identify the kinds of files which will work best on our system. 2. Determine if you meet copyright requirements with these files by reviewing the CopyRight Law. 3. Once your copyright requirements are met, email your files to your liaison librarian. It is important that you provide links from your web sites to the eReserves system here and also note in your syllabi which reserve items are available in print at the LRC Checkout Desk and which are available via the eReserves system. Your librarian will upload your files to the system and notify you when they are ready for your class. The content offered via the eReserves system may include: instructor-created materials public domain content materials owned by the LRC links to Internet resources links to CCCCD-licensed electronic resources materials for which permission of the copyright holder can be documented. |
