Bobbie Long, Director RAP as a word has a great history, ranging from a sharp stroke with a stick to a criminal charge to a style of popular music. R.A.P., as used by the Library, is our Research Assistance Program.

R.A.P. is a sharp quick stroke of instruction delivered by the library at strategic points to the student helping them to master research skills with the end result of a quality paper or project.

For the faculty, R.A.P. is important as a communication conduit informing faculty what the library has purchased new in their subject area, demonstrating the new interfaces and tools available with the electronic resources, and, of course, hyping what the library can provide as resources for their classes.

Drop by the library and schedule a RAP session with the librarians – be ready for smart conversation and great verbal displays (with or without rhyming).
