The team's outreach plan includes a thorough web page detailing our experiment and its results, a trip to several area schools, and a seminar at the college detailing our experiences.
Thanks for visiting our website at: http://iws.ccccd.edu/biopage/zerograv/index.html. It will include a summary of our experiment with links to related sites, information about the team members and faculty, and pictures and descriptions of our results after the flights. We hope to have a link to our page from one of the schools main web pages in order to spread the word. Additionally we hope that we may gain media coverage through our team journalist.
Collin County Community College has a close relationship with some of the local schools. One, Bowman Middle School, located just down the street has welcomed CCCC students to tutor on a regular basis, and the team will pursue on opportunity to put on a presentation for the student body there as well as some of the other nearby schools. With an ongoing shortage of technical professionals, our hope is that through our exposure to exciting ideas, such as flying on the KC-135A, the interests of area kids in the sciences will be stimulated.
Another opportunity for outreach after the flights is for the team and faculty members to organize and deliver a seminar describing the experiment and its results at the college. This would be an excellent way to stimulate interest in the program for next year.

Exposure to students--to learn science...

Our hope is that through our exposure to exciting ideas, such as flying on the KC-135A, the interests of area kids in the sciences will be stimulated.
