This website will provide an exhaustive review of Freud’s biography, which is extremely critical for the understanding of his theory. It describes in detail all aspects of Freud’s theory, including structures, stages, defense mechanisms, and therapeutic techniques. Finally, the website provides a fair critique of the highly controversial issues (sexuality and unconscious mechanisms controlling behavior) of Freud’s theory. In order to provide evidence for both sides of the debate, the site provides a review of the positive features of Freud’s theory.
The final section of the website is a discussion/evaluation of Freud’s theory. Everyone has an opinion about the work of one of the great minds of the 20th century so you can add yours to the discussion. After reviewing this discussion section, as well as the other parts of the website, what are your conclusions about Freud and his theory of psychoanalysis? To assist your effort on this assignment the following are some of the questions/issues that you might address:
